What you should know before you go

Six graded classes — beginner, beginner-intermediate, intermediate, intermediate-advanced, advanced and PVC — so a first-timer is not put out with the fast group, and the organiser publishes remaining places per class. This is the day that does NOT appear on Fuji Speedway’s own drift-park calendar; date, price and class availability come from the organiser’s own announcement.

About Fuji Speedway Drift Park

Getting there: 694 Nakahinata, Oyama-cho, Sunto-gun, Shizuoka. Tel 0550-78-1234. About 50 min from Tokyo IC on the Tomei expressway to Ashigara Smart IC, then 10 min; or Chuo expressway to Kawaguchiko IC, the Higashi-Fuji-Goko road to Sunosugi IC, then 10 min

Circuit fees: Drift free-run ¥9,900 a day, licence holders only. Gate ¥1,200 for adults (¥900 high-school age, free for junior-high and under) — but licence members pay nothing and bring one passenger in free, so a licence holder’s day costs ¥9,900 flat. Licence: Short Course & Parks ¥25,000 new / ¥22,000 renewal, issued the same day after a course of about 2.5 hours; the Racing Course licence at ¥49,000 includes it. Whole-park hire ¥407,000 a weekday / ¥594,000 weekends and holidays
