These medians are what Japanese dealers ask, with their margin, prep and warranty built in. The same chassis trade below them at dealer auctions and inside the drift community, and that is where we buy for overseas clients. Source: goo-net.com, every listing for each chassis, all pages, read on the census date. Listings marked 応相談 (price on request) are excluded; everything with a vehicle price is counted.
Core chassis: S13 Silvia, S14 Silvia, S15 Silvia, 180SX, AE86 Trueno, AE86 Levin, JZX100 Chaser. A chassis with fewer than 10 priced listings that month is shown but excluded from the index (JZX90 Chaser, for example).
Index: for each chassis, median that month ÷ median in July 2026 × 100; the index is the simple average of those relatives. Equal weights, so the 131-car S15 market does not drown out the 30-car AE86 market.
Composite median: the plain average of the chassis medians, in yen, for readers who want a price rather than an index.
Cadence: one census a month, around the 21st. Each month is archived; we do not revise a published month.
Limits: asking prices, not transactions. Modified drift cars, spec grades and mileage are mixed within a chassis; the quartiles show the spread.
