Whole car-park hire ¥60,000–300,000 a day tax included (Lot 4, the JAF-certified 12,000 m² course, is ¥140,000 weekday / ¥300,000 Sunday), pylons free, cash on the day unless prepaid. Season April–November, 8:00–17:00. Booking is web-only since 2026 and the whole season opens at 00:00 JST on 1 March
Getting there
Ski resort in Maibara, northern Shiga. Nearest station Ōmi-Nagaoka; the Maichan Bus (¥800, weekdays only, three a day) and the book-by-phone Maichan-go shared taxi both stop at Kōzuhara, about 3 km short of the gate — a regular taxi from the station closes the gap
What to know before you go
Not a circuit: four asphalt ski-resort car parks (34,500 m² in total) that Formula Drift Japan races on — Rd.5 ran here on 5–6 September 2026, with FDJ2/FDJ3 rounds. The venue’s published rules make a helmet compulsory and say nothing about a licence, roll bar or noise limit, so treat those as set by whoever runs the day and confirm before travelling. Private land, so cars without number plates are welcome, which is why manufacturers test here. Booking runs through the resort’s Japanese-only reservation portal. Full detail, including the bus that closed in 2020 but is still listed on the venue’s own access page, is in our Okuibuki guide.
