YZ Circuit East (Gifu) sells drift running to individuals: 50-min slot ¥4,000 booked / ¥4,500 same-day, closed Tuesdays; verified 22 Aug 2026, schedule re-read daily (next open drift day Mon 2 Nov 2026). Free-run in 50-minute slots, with drift allowed only in the mixed slots (2G, 4G, 6G–8G). Email booking in Japanese and no rental cars, but the circuit confirmed to us that a visitor needs no Japanese licence or IDP. Closed Tuesdays.

What to know before you go

Regular beginner-friendly drift days (Chibikko Gang, MJ Style, CDA). The least foreigner-ready of the six on paper: the track’s own private-hire terms state the renter must be “a person who understands Japanese”, booking is a Japanese email template, and the paperwork wants a hanko stamp. But when we booked a visiting driver into a free-run slot in September 2026, the circuit confirmed to us that a Japanese licence or International Driving Permit is not required, so an overseas driver can run here with a home-country licence; no rental cars serve this track. Private hire (road course): ¥300,000 weekday / ¥550,000 Sat & holidays / ¥650,000 Sunday, +tax.
