SEIMI STYLE DRIFT at Meihan: Dates, Entry & Watching (2026)
The Rundown
- SEIMI STYLE DRIFT is a drift school and track day run by Seimi Tanaka, a D1 Grand Prix driver since 2012. Its home venue is the C course at Meihan Sportsland (Nara).
- The next round is Sunday 8 November 2026: ¥10,000 per car, 35 to 42 cars, reception 7:00, running 8:00 to 16:00. Entries are open as of 3 November 2026.
- Meihan's own booking sheet also lists SEIMI on Sunday 13 December (C course) and Tuesday 29 December (C and D courses). SEIMI's provisional plan lists 29 November and 29 December instead of 13 December.
- Entry is a Japanese Google Form followed by a bank transfer to a Japanese account. Your place is confirmed only once the transfer is received, and the fee (¥10,000 for 8 November) is not normally refunded.
- Spectators pay Meihan's ¥500 entrance fee per person on Sundays and holidays, so ¥500 on 8 Nov and 13 Dec. The circuit does not publish a weekday entrance fee, so Tue 29 Dec is TBC as of 3 Nov 2026.

SEIMI STYLE DRIFT at Meihan at a glance
SEIMI STYLE DRIFT runs its next drift school day at Meihan Sportsland (Nara) on Sunday 8 November 2026, on the C course, for ¥10,000 per car. Meihan’s booking sheet also lists SEIMI days on 13 December and 29 December 2026, and spectators pay the circuit’s ¥500 entrance fee on Sundays. We checked on the official pages on 3 November 2026.
In Japanese this kind of day is a 走行会 (sōkōkai): an organiser hires the track and sells the entries itself. Meihan prints “SEIMI STYLE DRIFT” on its calendar, but the circuit does not take your booking or your entry fee. SEIMI does. The general picture of Meihan, its courses and its other organisers is in our Meihan Sportsland guide. This page covers the SEIMI days only.
What is SEIMI STYLE DRIFT?
It is a track day and drift school run by SEIMI STYLE DRIFT together with a partner listed as とりいち (Toriichi). The representative is Seimi Tanaka, a D1 Grand Prix driver who has competed in the series since 2012 and finished 4th overall in 2023, according to the organiser’s site.
The school runs all over western Japan: Meihan, Suzuka Twin, Tokushima, Hadashi Tengoku, YZ, Bihoku and Owara. Meihan’s C course is where it runs most often. In 2026 SEIMI has used it in March, May, June, July, September and October.
Every entrant picks one of four classes:
| Class | Who it is for, per the organiser |
|---|---|
| Super beginner (超初心者) | Never drifted, or barely tried. Basics from the start, plus setup advice for the car |
| Beginner | Knows the basics, still practising corners and throttle control |
| Middle | Can already drift; working on initiation and tandem (追走, tsuisō, following another car) |
| Expert | Competition-minded and experienced drivers |
The organiser’s top page says a ドリコン (dori-kon, a small drift contest) and prizes are regular features. The 8 November page mentions prizes but not a contest. It also says that if entries are low, the whole day becomes free running.
When are the remaining 2026 SEIMI days at Meihan?
This is where the two official sources disagree. SEIMI calls its annual plan provisional (暫定, zantei). Meihan’s monthly sheet is the circuit’s own booking record. Here is what each said on 3 November 2026:
| Date | Meihan’s schedule sheet | SEIMI’s 2026 plan | Entry fee | Spectator gate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sun 8 Nov 2026 | SEIMI on C course | Listed, entries open | ¥10,000 per car | ¥500 per person |
| Sun 29 Nov 2026 | C course given to Star Five (gymkhana); D course to another drift day | Listed as 準備中 (junbichū, in preparation) | Not stated officially | ¥500 per person |
| Sun 13 Dec 2026 | SEIMI on C course (Garage DAX on D) | Not listed | Not stated officially | ¥500 per person |
| Tue 29 Dec 2026 | SEIMI on C and D courses | Listed as 準備中, printed as a Monday | Not stated officially | No fee stated for weekdays |
Two notes. 29 December 2026 is a Tuesday; SEIMI’s plan prints it as Monday. And on 3 November only the 8 November round had its own entry page. If you are planning around 13 or 29 December, treat the date as likely but not confirmed until SEIMI opens an entry page for it.
Each date also has its own page on our calendar: 8 November, 13 December and 29 December. Everything else running at the circuit is on the Meihan schedule.
What happens on the day, and what does it cost?
SEIMI’s page for the 8 November round sets out the day:
| Item | What SEIMI publishes for 8 Nov 2026 |
|---|---|
| Venue | Meihan Sportsland, C course |
| Entry fee | ¥10,000 per car |
| Field | 35 to 42 cars, closes when full |
| Timetable | 7:00 reception, 7:45 drivers’ briefing (ドラミ, dorami), 8:00 running starts, 16:00 finish (may run later depending on numbers) |
| Coaching | Instructors give advice to anyone who wants it: driving, how the car is built, simple suspension setup |
| Instructors named | Seimi Tanaka, plus three more |
What it costs you depends on whether you drive or watch, and whether you do it alone:
| Route | What you pay | What you still have to solve |
|---|---|---|
| Watch, on your own | ¥500 per person on a Sunday, plus your own transport | Reaching a circuit with no bus to the gate |
| Drive, on your own | ¥10,000 per car (8 Nov), plus your own car and transport | A Japanese entry form, a Japanese bank transfer, a car, a 7:00 arrival |
| Packaged, with us | Actual costs plus a fee, quoted as a total first | Nothing on the Japanese side |
How do you enter a SEIMI day?
Two rules on the entry page
Once your entry is accepted, the fee is in principle not refunded. And a minor needs a parent or guardian's signature.
The organiser also lists phone and fax numbers for questions, in Japanese. The page lists this kit:
What SEIMI asks you to bring
- Helmet
- Gloves
- Seat belt
- Long sleeves and long trousers
- Shoes suitable for driving
What SEIMI does not publish, as of 3 November 2026: any licence requirement, any rule on where the car is registered, passenger rides, rental cars, or an English entry route. Our guides to the circuit licence question and to helmet and gear rules at Japanese tracks cover what usually applies. You will need your own car; nothing on SEIMI’s pages offers one.
Can you just watch?
Yes. Meihan’s general running guide says a ¥500 entrance fee per person applies on Sundays and public holidays. So watching on 8 November or 13 December costs ¥500 each. For weekdays like 29 December the circuit states no entrance fee. Gates open at 6:00 on weekends and holidays and at 7:00 on weekdays. SEIMI’s pages say nothing about spectators either way.
How Meihan compares with other circuits as a cheap day out is in our guide to watching drifting in Japan on practice days.
Where does an overseas visitor get stuck?
At the payment. You cannot hold a place on a SEIMI day with a card. The only route is a Japanese form and then a transfer into a Japanese credit union account, and the entry counts only once that money arrives. From abroad, that step is hard. The car and the 7:00 reception are the next two problems.
Getting there is the third. Meihan has no bus to the gate. The closest public chain we found on 4 September 2026 was the express bus from JR Nara at 06:50, reaching Yamato Kogen Yamazoe at 07:48, then a taxi. That is fine for a spectator, but too late for a driver who must sign in by 7:00. The full detail, including the one taxi firm the circuit lists, is in our guide to getting to Meihan Sportsland without a car.
The Japanese form, the bank transfer and a 7:00 start
Entry is a Japanese form plus a transfer to a Japanese account, and the day starts at a circuit with no bus to the gate. Get to Meihan and onto a SEIMI day with us: the Japanese entry and payment handled, and the trip out from Nara or Osaka arranged.
If you are in Japan in December anyway, the December 2026 drift trip planner puts both December SEIMI days next to everything else running that month. Other beginner-friendly schools are compared in our drift lessons and schools guide, and every date across Japan is on the drift event calendar.
