The Rundown

  • Team Pegasus is an outside organiser that hires the East course at Mobara Twin Circuit (Chiba) about once a month. The 2026 dates still to run are Tue 17 Nov, Tue 15 Dec and Tue 29 Dec.
  • Entry is ¥10,000 for a weekday and ¥15,000 for the year-end day on 29 Dec, according to the organiser's 2026 schedule page, checked on 2 Nov 2026.
  • The format is grip and drift together: six classes of 15 cars or fewer (90 cars in all), six 10-minute sessions each, assembly 8:00, briefing 8:40, first session 9:00.
  • You apply by email or phone with your address, name, phone number, date and class. The current entry page says you pay in cash at the circuit on the day, and a same-day cancellation costs 100% of the fee.
  • Spectating is free on 17 Nov and 15 Dec. Mobara lists 29 Dec as a day when the gate fee applies.

The Team Pegasus track day is a grip and drift day that the organiser Team Pegasus runs on the East course of Mobara Twin Circuit (Chiba), usually on a Tuesday, about once a month. The remaining 2026 dates are 17 November, 15 December and 29 December; entry is ¥10,000 on a weekday and ¥15,000 on 29 December. We checked the organiser’s pages and the circuit’s schedules on 2 November 2026.

In Japanese this is a 走行会 (sōkōkai): a private track day where a team or shop hires the whole circuit and sells the entries itself. That is the first thing to understand. Mobara prints “チームペガサス” on its calendar, but the circuit does not take your booking or your money for this day. Team Pegasus does.

When are the next Team Pegasus days at Mobara?

Team Pegasus publishes its whole year in advance. For 2026 it lists 14 Mobara dates: one a month, with two in May and two in December. All of them are Tuesdays except 1 May (a Friday) and 13 August (a Thursday). Three are still ahead:

DateEntry feeSpectator gateOn Mobara’s schedule?
Tue 17 Nov 2026¥10,000Free (weekday)Yes, November East course page
Tue 15 Dec 2026¥10,000Free (weekday)Yes, December East course page
Tue 29 Dec 2026¥15,000Gate fee applies (Mobara lists 29 Dec as a paid day)Yes, December East course page

Two details from the circuit’s side. Mobara’s November page gives ¥500 as its standard gate fee on paid days; the December page lists 29 December as a paid day but does not repeat the amount. And 2027 dates are not published as of 2 November 2026, on either the organiser’s site or the circuit’s. The circuit’s December schedule ends on 4 January.

If none of these dates fits your trip, the other drift days on the same track and at the other circuits near Tokyo are on our calendar of Japanese drift events.

What happens on the day, and how much does it cost?

The organiser’s 2026 page sets out the format, and it is simple:

ItemWhat Team Pegasus publishes
ClassesGrip and drift on the same day; 6 classes, 15 cars or fewer each, 90 cars in all
Running6 sessions of 10 minutes per class
Timetable8:00 assembly, 8:40 drivers’ briefing, 9:00 first session
Entry fee¥10,000 weekday; ¥15,000 on 29 Dec 2026
Group discount5 people −¥500 each; 10 −¥1,000; 15 −¥1,500; 20 −¥2,000
Passenger ridesAllowed, ¥1,000
LunchBring your own
CompetitionNone (the page says ドリコン無し, “no drift contest”)

The six classes split by level. When Team Pegasus listed its 21 October 2024 Mobara day on the Japanese portal 走行会.com, it named them: beginner, intermediate and advanced for drift, and the same three for grip, 15 cars each. The organiser’s own page makes a point of the small classes, saying entrants often tell it the 15-car limit makes the track easy to drive.

There is also a private-class option on the entry page: you hire one class slot (up to 20 cars) for your own group, at ¥120,000 on a weekday. That is for a team bringing its own cars, not for a single visitor.

How the day compares with the circuit’s own drift days, which book on the web and run on weekends, is covered in our Mobara Twin Circuit guide.

How do you enter a Team Pegasus day?

There is no booking form. The page linked from the organiser’s homepage as the entry and contact page describes the process like this:

1
Send your details by email or phoneAddress, name, phone number, the date, the venue (Mobara or Tsukuba) and your class. Give every name if more than one person is coming.
2
Arrive by 8:00 on the dayThe briefing is at 8:40 and the first session at 9:00.
3
Fill in the forms at the circuitEvery participant completes the entry form and the liability waiver on site.
4
Pay in cash at the circuitThe entry page says payment is taken in cash on the day.

Two things that catch people out

A same-day cancellation costs 100% of the entry fee, according to the organiser's entry page. And an older version of that page is still online, with a different process (pay in advance by registered post or bank transfer, ¥1,000 more if you pay on the day). The page linked from the current homepage, which we follow here, says cash on the day. If you are unsure, confirm the payment method when you apply.

What the organiser does not publish, as of 2 November 2026: an entry deadline, whether a driving licence or insurance is checked, any rule on where the car is registered, and whether it takes entries in English. Every part of the entry route is in Japanese. Our guide to entering a Japanese drift track day as a foreigner covers what usually applies on organiser days.

What do you and your car need?

The organiser’s rules page is about preparation on the day, not paperwork:

Team Pegasus rules for the day

  • Take every loose item out of the car.
  • Tape over the front and rear lights, the battery terminals, and the power-steering and brake fluid reservoirs.
  • Fit race numbers on both doors. No gaffer tape: magnetic numbers go on the front edge; laminated numbers are taped on all four sides with vinyl or masking tape.
  • Windows may be open by 10 cm at most (a window with no one beside it may be fully open).
  • Passengers wear a helmet, long sleeves and gloves, with sleeves down.
  • Return your race numbers and the timing transponder before you leave.

The page states the helmet, long-sleeve and glove rule for passengers. It does not list driver kit separately, so bring at least the same for yourself; our helmet and gear guide for Japanese tracks covers what circuits generally expect.

The bigger question for a visitor is the car. Mobara Twin Circuit lists no rental drift cars, and Team Pegasus’s pages do not mention one. You need a car you can drive to the circuit and on the track.

Where does an overseas visitor get stuck?

Not on the driving. Getting onto the entry list takes two things a visitor cannot easily do from abroad. The application is an email or phone call in Japanese that asks for a Japanese address and phone number. And the day starts at 8:00 on a Tuesday at a circuit that is a 15 to 20 minute taxi ride from Mobara Station, with a car you have to bring yourself. Our guide to getting to Mobara Twin Circuit without a car has the train and bus details.

The Japanese application and the 8:00 start

Entry runs by Japanese email or phone, needs a local address and number, and the day starts at 8:00 at a circuit outside town. We handle the Japanese side of a Mobara drift day and get you to the gate on time.

If you are in Japan in December anyway, the December 2026 drift trip planner puts the two December Team Pegasus days next to the D1 Lights weekend at Mobara (12 and 13 December) and the other year-end days near Tokyo.

Entry is ¥10,000 for a weekday day at Mobara Twin Circuit (Chiba), and ¥15,000 for the year-end day on Tuesday 29 December 2026, according to Team Pegasus's 2026 schedule page checked on 2 November 2026. Can beginners join Team Pegasus at Mobara?

Yes, on the published format. Its own 2026 page still describes six classes of 15 cars or fewer at Mobara Twin Circuit (Chiba). It does not state a minimum experience level, as of 2 November 2026.
