Buying a Used A'PEXi Power FC From Japan: Prices and Fitment (2026)

By Published Oct 9, 2026 Updated Oct 9, 2026 7 min read

The Rundown

  • The A'PEXi Power FC is still in A'PEXi's catalogue: the chassis list dated 19 January 2026 prices the unit at ¥140,800 including tax, with the FC Commander sold separately since April 2022 at ¥46,200.
  • Used Power FCs for the SR20DET (S13, S14, S15, 180SX) sold for a median ¥49,800 across 41 Yahoo! Auctions Japan sales ending 12 April to 7 October 2026; with a Commander included the median was ¥60,000 (15 sales).
  • Other used medians in the same window: JZX100 1JZ-GTE ¥63,750 (14 sales), ECR33/ER34 RB25DET ¥66,000 (9), GT-R RB26DETT ¥47,400 (8), FD3S 13B-REW ¥57,300 (20). Early JZX90/JZZ30 1JZ units fetched ¥140,000 to ¥250,000 (6 sales).
  • A'PEXi splits the Silvia and 180SX into 11 part numbers by year and by airflow system (L-Jetro or D-Jetro). The S14 alone has three: 414-N030 early, 414-N031 early D-Jetro, 414-N044 late.
  • A Commander sold on its own went for a median ¥16,375 (24 sales). A'PEXi's FAQ says a Commander that stays on the A'PEXi logo screen is not compatible with that unit.

The A’PEXi Power FC is not discontinued: A’PEXi still lists it, at ¥140,800 including tax for the unit, in a chassis list dated 19 January 2026. Used units are cheaper and plentiful, with an SR20DET Power FC selling for a median ¥49,800 (about $311) across 41 Yahoo! Auctions Japan sales that ended between 12 April and 7 October 2026. The main risk is buying the wrong part number, or a unit with no working Commander, because the listing title rarely tells you.

We checked A’PEXi’s official pages and read the closed auction results ourselves on 9 October 2026. Dollars are at ¥160 to $1.

Is the A’PEXi Power FC still made in 2026?

Yes, for a fixed list of cars. The Power FC is a plug-in replacement ECU: you unplug the factory computer and plug the Power FC into the same connector. A’PEXi’s product page still carries it, priced at ¥128,000 before tax. Since April 2022 the FC Commander, the small handheld screen used to read and change the maps, has been sold separately at ¥42,000 before tax (¥46,200 with tax).

The current list covers the S13, S14, S15 and 180SX SR20DET, the JZX100 1JZ-GTE, the ECR33 and ER34 RB25DET, the R32, R33 and R34 GT-R RB26DETT, the FD3S 13B-REW and a few others, such as the SW20 MR2 and Lancer Evolution V to VII. It does not include the early JZX90 and JZZ30 1JZ, the JZA80 2JZ-GTE, the RB20DET or the CA18DET. For those cars, the used market is the only market.

What A’PEXi’s page does not say is whether its dealers will sell a new unit for export. That is TBC. A’PEXi’s FAQ adds that setting is basically done on the car, at its dealers.

How much does a used Power FC sell for in Japan?

These are sold prices, not asking prices, from Yahoo! Auctions Japan (ヤフオク, yafuoku), Japan’s largest auction site. Junk-labelled units, harnesses, sensors and screen-only parts are left out.

FC Commander on its own24¥16,375 ($102)¥9,562 to ¥21,775¥5,250 to ¥33,000

Two patterns stand out. The early JZX90 and JZZ30 1JZ units cost three times a JZX100 unit, because A’PEXi no longer lists them. And only one 2JZ-GTE Power FC for the JZA80 sold in the whole window, for ¥165,000, so there is no median to give.

Listings described as new full kits (unit plus the current OLED Commander, part 415-A030) also sold: 12 for the JZX100 (414-T020) at a median ¥105,000, and 16 for the ER34 (414-N033) at ¥100,000. That is the seller’s description; we did not inspect them.

So what does a Power FC cost you, in practice?

RouteWhat you pay in Japan
Cheapest: used SR20DET unit, no Commander, bid yourself through a proxymedian ¥44,500, plus about ¥16,375 if you need a used Commander
Used unit with Commander, part number and seller answers checked for youactual cost + fee; we quote the total first
New from A’PEXi¥140,800 unit + ¥46,200 Commander (tax incl.); export sale TBC

Shipping and your own import tax come on top. A Power FC is small and goes by EMS or courier (EMS vs courier for drift parts); for the tax side, see import duty on JDM drift parts.

Which Power FC fits an S13, S14, S15 or 180SX?

The one with the right number on its label. A’PEXi does not make one Silvia unit. It makes 11, split by year and by airflow system: L-Jetro (the factory air-flow meter) or D-Jetro (speed-density, which reads a pressure sensor instead).

Old units on Yahoo often carry an older code instead, such as “SR2014” or “S15L 010-0175” in the title. Those are earlier generations that A’PEXi no longer prints in its list, so their fit is TBC until the label is matched to your car.

D-Jetro units need extra parts

A'PEXi's notes say the D-Jetro Silvia and 180SX units need its pressure sensor (499-X001) and a sensor harness, plus a genuine FD3S intake-air temperature sensor. A "D-Jetro" unit dropped into a car that still has its air-flow meter will not just plug and run. A'PEXi also says the list does not apply to engine-swapped cars.

What are the FC Commander and the PC options?

The FC Commander is the handheld screen that plugs into the Power FC. It shows boost, ignition timing and injector duty, and lets you edit the fuel and ignition maps. Without one, the unit runs whatever map is inside it.

Not every Commander works with every unit. A’PEXi’s FAQ says that if the Commander stays on the A’PEXi logo screen, it is not compatible with that Power FC. Used Commanders sold alone for a median ¥16,375, and seven more sales were a third-party service replacing a Power FC’s aging capacitors (¥15,000 to ¥15,800). One seller felt the need to write 液漏れ無し (ekimore nashi, “no capacitor leakage”) in the title, which tells you what buyers worry about.

For PC tuning, A’PEXi’s own FC Commander PRO software can no longer be installed, because its authentication server has stopped (A’PEXi FAQ). Third-party PC interfaces fill the gap. Datalogit is the one most overseas tuners know, and PC communication adapters (some listed for FC-Edit and FC-Pro) sold 12 times on Yahoo at ¥30,000 to ¥35,000. None of these are A’PEXi products.

Can you buy a Power FC from Yahoo! Auctions Japan yourself?

Yes. A proxy bidding service will bid, pay and forward it, and 99 used units for the engines above sold in six months, so supply is not the problem. Reading the listing is. A title like “パワーFC S14” does not tell you whether it is 414-N030 or 414-N044, L- or D-Jetro, or if the unit was re-mapped for a bigger turbo and injectors by its last owner. Words like 実働外し (jitsudō hazushi, “removed from a running car”) or 本体のみ (hontai nomi, “unit only”) help, but most titles leave out the part number, the Commander and the map history.

A proxy buys what the listing says. It will not check that the label matches your car, ask whether the Commander comes with the unit, or ask the seller in Japanese whether the unit has been tuned, locked to another setup, or ever been wet. That is the step where overseas buyers end up with the wrong ECU.

Not sure the Power FC in the listing fits your car?

Send us your chassis code, year and a photo of your current ECU label. We check the part number, ask the seller in Japanese about the Commander and the map history, and share photos before you pay, so you only bid on a unit that matches.

Before you bid on any unit, run through this:

Ask before you bid

  • The A'PEXi part number on the label (photo), against the table above
  • L-Jetro or D-Jetro, and which year of the chassis it came out of
  • Commander included, and which one (the current one is 415-A030)
  • Was it re-mapped, and for what turbo and injectors?
  • Any water damage, leaking capacitors or opened case

For how sellers word condition, payment and shipping in Japanese, read how to read Yahoo! Auctions drift parts listings. If the Power FC is going into a fresh engine, used JDM engine prices in Japan covers the SR20, 1JZ and 2JZ from the same auction data.

Frequently asked questions

Is the A'PEXi Power FC still made in 2026?

Yes. As of 9 October 2026 the Power FC is on A'PEXi's current product page, and its chassis list dated 19 January 2026 prices the unit at ¥128,000 before tax (¥140,800 with tax). The FC Commander has been sold separately since April 2022 at ¥42,000 (¥46,200 with tax). The list only covers certain chassis, such as the S13, S14, S15 and 180SX SR20DET, JZX100 1JZ-GTE, ECR33 and ER34 RB25DET, GT-R RB26DETT and FD3S 13B-REW. Early JZX90 and JZZ30 1JZ, JZA80 2JZ-GTE and RB20 units are not on it.

How much does a used Power FC cost in Japan?

On Yahoo! Auctions Japan, for sales ending 12 April to 7 October 2026 (checked 9 October 2026), a used SR20DET Power FC sold for a median ¥49,800 across 41 sales, or ¥60,000 with an FC Commander included. A JZX100 1JZ-GTE unit had a median of ¥63,750 (14 sales), RB25DET ¥66,000 (9), RB26DETT ¥47,400 (8) and FD3S 13B-REW ¥57,300 (20). Shipping, proxy fees and import tax are on top of these prices.

Which Power FC fits an S14, S15 or 180SX?

It depends on the year and the airflow system. A'PEXi's chassis list dated 19 January 2026 gives 414-N030 for the early S14 (October 1993 to May 1996), 414-N044 for the late S14 (June 1996 to December 1998) and 414-N045 for the S15. The 180SX has three generations: 414-N038 (early, red-top SR20DET), 414-N040 (mid) and 414-N042 (late). Each also has a D-Jetro version that needs an extra pressure sensor. Check the number on the unit's label against your car before buying.

Can I buy a Power FC from Yahoo! Auctions Japan?

Yes, through a proxy bidding service, and plenty sell: 99 used Power FC units for the main drift engines sold on Yahoo! Auctions Japan between 12 April and 7 October 2026. The risk is the listing, not the auction. Titles often leave out the A'PEXi part number, say nothing about the Commander, or describe a unit already re-tuned for another car. A proxy will not ask the seller about any of that in Japanese, so check the label photo yourself or have someone in Japan ask before you bid.
