The Rundown
- 64 used genuine Nissan dashboards for the S13 Silvia, 180SX, S14 and S15 sold on Yahoo! Auctions Japan in closed listings ending 26 April to 18 October 2026, for ¥31 to ¥167,200 (prices read on 20 October 2026).
- Crack-free dashboards are the expensive minority: 7 S13 and 180SX dashes listed as having no cracks sold for ¥22,000 to ¥122,000, and the dearest sale of all was a crack-free late S15 Spec-S L package dash at ¥167,200 after 34 bids.
- 22 of the 64 listings would not deliver to a private home, only to a business or a freight depot, and none of the 64 listings offered Yahoo!'s overseas delivery option.
- Four sellers quoted a 260-size box (length, width and height adding up to 260 cm); one seller's printed domestic freight for a single dashboard ran from ¥5,280 to ¥17,000 depending on the region of Japan.

Used S-chassis dashboards in Japan
Yes, you can buy a used genuine Nissan dashboard for an S13 Silvia, 180SX, S14 or S15 from Japan, and they turn up most weeks. On Yahoo! Auctions Japan, 64 complete dashboards sold in closed listings ending 26 April to 18 October 2026, for ¥31 to ¥167,200, but the crack-free ones are the minority and sell for ¥22,000 and up. We read these listings and their sale pages on 20 October 2026; dollar figures use ¥160 to $1, and prices exclude proxy fees, freight and import tax.
If your dash top has split in the sun, or a cage bar has already been cut through it, this is what the market looks like and where an overseas purchase usually stalls.
Can you still get a new dashboard from Nissan?
Not that we can confirm. We checked the official pages on 20 October 2026 and Nissan does not state whether new genuine dashboards for these cars are still supplied. Nissan’s reproduction programme, NISMO Heritage Parts, covers the R32, R33 and R34 Skyline GT-R only. The discontinued OEM parts guide explains what that means for the rest of an S-chassis interior. The used market below is the market.
What do used S-chassis dashboards sell for on Yahoo! Auctions?
These are closed (sold) listings, not asking prices. We kept only complete dashboards (ダッシュボード or インパネ, the instrument panel) and dropped dash mats, covers, vents, defroster panels, meter hoods, glovebox lids, the steel frame behind the dash and a 1/24 plastic model kit. Sales marked ジャンク (janku, junk) still count, because those are the bids you are up against. Store prices include Japanese consumption tax.
| Chassis | Sales | Sold range | Described as crack-free | Ending dates |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S13 Silvia and 180SX (listed for both) | 31 | ¥31 to ¥122,000 | 7 sales, ¥22,000 to ¥122,000 | 26 Apr to 29 Sep 2026 |
| S14 Silvia | 16 | ¥999 to ¥100,000 | 2 sales, ¥50,000 and ¥100,000 | 3 May to 18 Oct 2026 |
| S15 Silvia | 17 | ¥4,400 to ¥167,200 | 3 sales, ¥36,500 to ¥167,200 | 16 May to 12 Oct 2026 |
The spread is about condition, not luck. At the bottom, an S13 and 180SX dash left over from a shell swap went for ¥31 after 4 bids, and several sub-¥5,000 sales were cracked, drilled for gauges or already cut. Two S15 dashes that had been cut for a roll cage (ロールバー用にカット) sold for ¥4,400 and ¥5,500. In the middle sit resurfaced dashes: three S13 and 180SX units repaired over old cracks sold for ¥46,501 to ¥77,000. At the top, a crack-free S13 and 180SX dash fetched ¥122,000 after 26 bids, a fixed-price S14 zenki (early model) dash without a passenger airbag sold at ¥100,000, and the S15 Spec-S L package dash reached ¥167,200.
On 20 October 2026, 31 complete genuine dashboards were live, at current or asking prices of ¥3,000 to ¥90,000. None had a bid yet.
If you only want the top covered, two new FRP dashboard covers for the S13 and 180SX sold at ¥27,280 each in May. A Tokyo shop also lists a universal dry-carbon dash panel under S13, S14, S15 and 180SX titles at ¥120,000: 1,600 mm wide by 390 mm deep, cut to your windscreen line, made to order in about a month.
Why do most dashboard listings not ship to you?
This is the step that stops overseas buyers. Of the 64 sales, 22 listings would not deliver to a private home (個人宅配送不可): collection from a freight depot (営業所止め) or delivery to a business name only. One went further and would not even hold it at a depot for a private buyer. Two more were titled pickup only (引き取り限定 / 直接引き取りのみ), in Saitama and Gifu. Three sellers said they would not answer questions about the shipping cost, and one of them added that the freight bill is only known once the box is collected. And not one of the 64 sale pages had Yahoo!‘s overseas delivery switched on.
A proxy can bid for you, but a dashboard is not a small parcel it forwards in a week. You also cannot see a crack the seller’s photos do not show, and every one of these is sold ノークレーム・ノーリターン (no claims, no returns).
Airbags do not travel with the dash
Some S14 and S15 dashes come with the passenger airbag missing (エアバッグ欠品) or the cover blanked off, and two of the S14 sales above said so. An airbag module is not something you can post anyway: see parts Japan can't post.
We collect it, check it and crate it in Japan
Depot-only freight, pickup-only sellers and cracks you can only judge from someone else's photos are the gap we fill. We receive or collect the dashboard in Japan, inspect it, and send you photos and video of the top skin, the vent openings, the mounting tabs and any cut-outs before you commit, then pack it for export. Have us collect, inspect and ship your S-chassis dashboard.
What should the photos show before you buy?
Japanese listings often show the dash from one angle and say 画像にて判断 (judge from the photos). Ask for these, or have them shot for you.
Dashboard condition check
- Cracks and splits: 割れ (ware, crack) and ヒビ (hibi, hairline crack), usually on top near the windscreen and around the meter hood. 割れ無し (ware nashi) means the seller says there are none.
- Repairs and reskins: リペア (repair) or 張替え (harikae, reskinned). One repaired S13 listing noted the grain texture no longer matched the factory finish.
- Holes and cuts: gauge pods drilled into the top, ロールバー用カット (cut for a cage bar), or an airbag cover blanked with a panel.
- Mounting tabs and pins: 爪折れ (tsume-ore, broken clips). One S15 dash sold with every pin on the back snapped.
- What comes with it: vents (吹き出し口), defroster panels, glovebox and meter hood are often missing or sold separately, and they crack too.
How do you get a dashboard out of Japan, and what does it cost?
Start with the size. None of the 64 listings stated the dimensions. Four sellers quoted a 260-size box, meaning the length, width and height add up to 260 cm. Japan Post’s EMS limits, checked 20 October 2026, are a 1.5 m maximum length with 2.75 m length plus girth to the United States, 1.5 m and 3 m to the UK and Canada, and 1.05 m to Australia and Germany. So whether a boxed dash can go by EMS at all depends on its packed length, and the 1,600 mm carbon panel above would not. Japan Post also says Fragile and This Side Up services are not available on overseas shipments. Anything too long goes by freight, the same route as the bumpers in the oversized JDM parts shipping guide.
Freight inside Japan is a cost of its own. One S14 seller printed a table for a single dashboard: ¥5,280 to Shikoku, ¥10,000 to the Kanto region and ¥17,000 to Hokkaido, to a business address only.
| Route | What you pay | What you handle |
|---|---|---|
| DIY: proxy plus forwarder | The dashboard price, proxy fees, domestic freight to the proxy, packing and international shipping, each billed separately | Finding a seller who ships to a business address, checking your proxy accepts a 260-size box, and judging cracks from the seller’s photos |
| Packaged: TSUISO Parts Desk | Actual cost plus a fee; we quote the total first | Nothing on the Japan side: we collect, inspect on video, pack and export |
The DIY route only works with listings that will ship to a business, which often rules out the cheapest pickup-only dashes. Ask your proxy before bidding whether it will receive and forward a dashboard of that size. The pickup-only parts guide covers what to do when the answer is no, and the windscreen buying guide covers the glass that sits on top of the dash.
Once the interior is back together and the car is ready to run, the Japan drift tracks directory lists the circuits and what each one allows.

As of 20 October 2026, Nissan does not state on any official page we could find whether new genuine dashboards for the S13, S14, S15 or 180SX are still supplied, so treat it as not officially stated. In practice the supply is used dashboards from dismantled cars, 64 of which sold on Yahoo! Auctions Japan between 26 April and 18 October 2026.

Only if the boxed dashboard fits Japan Post's limits, and none of the 64 Yahoo! Auctions Japan dashboard listings we read between 26 April and 18 October 2026 stated the dimensions.
