Silvia and 180SX Windscreen From Japan: Used vs New Glass (2026)
The Rundown
- Only 4 used genuine Nissan windscreens for the S13, S14, S15 or 180SX sold on Yahoo! Auctions Japan in closed listings ending 29 April to 18 October 2026, for ¥5,000 to ¥34,100 (prices read on 19 October 2026).
- In the same window 75 new windscreens sold at fixed prices of ¥21,000 to ¥38,500. Their titles quote Nissan part numbers such as 72712-85F00 (S15), but the listings we opened describe the glass as imported aftermarket glass made by FUYAO in China.
- 11 used genuine rear windows sold between 19 May and 15 September 2026 for ¥17,700 to ¥110,000; S15 rear glass was the dearest, with six sales from ¥45,000 to ¥110,000.
- Of the 15 used genuine glass sales, 2 were pickup or hand-over only and 7 more would not deliver to a private home, only to a business or a freight depot. None of the 14 listing pages we opened offered Yahoo!'s overseas delivery option.
- Japan Post EMS takes parcels up to 1.5 m long with a length plus girth of 2.75 m to the US, but only 1.05 m to Australia and Germany, and it does not offer Fragile handling on overseas mail (checked 19 October 2026).

A used genuine Nissan windscreen for an S13, S14, S15 or 180SX is rare in Japan: only 4 sold on Yahoo! Auctions Japan in closed listings ending 29 April to 18 October 2026, for ¥5,000 to ¥34,100. New glass is easy to find (75 sales at ¥21,000 to ¥38,500), but the listings we opened were imported aftermarket glass, and almost none of it, used or new, is offered for delivery to a private home, let alone overseas. These are listing and closing prices read on 19 October 2026; dollar figures use ¥160 to $1.
If you cracked a screen at a drift day, or you are restoring a car and want factory glass with the right tint band, this is what the market looks like and where the buy usually falls apart.
Can you still get a new Nissan OEM windscreen?
Not that we can confirm. We checked the official pages on 19 October 2026 and Nissan does not state whether new genuine glass for these cars is still supplied. Nissan’s reproduction programme, NISMO Heritage Parts, covers the R32, R33 and R34 Skyline GT-R only. So treat new genuine S-chassis glass as not officially stated, and see the discontinued OEM parts guide for how that plays out across the rest of the car.
What fills the gap is new aftermarket glass. The titles read 日産 新品 (Nissan, new) and quote the Nissan part number, for example 72712-85F00 for the S15 or 72712-70F15 for the S14. Read the description: the store listings we opened say 輸入社外新品 (imported aftermarket, new), made by FUYAO in China and road-legal in Japan, with the part number given for reference. One store also notes the moulding needs replacing at the same time (要モール交換). That is fine glass for a drift car. It is just not Nissan glass.
What do windscreens and rear glass sell for on Yahoo! Auctions?
These are closed (sold) listings read on 19 October 2026. We dropped tint film, mouldings, wipers, washer tanks, quarter windows and door glass.
| Glass | Sales | Price range | Ending dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| Used genuine windscreen (S14 x3, 180SX x1) | 4 | ¥5,000 to ¥34,100 | 1 Jul to 3 Oct 2026 |
| New aftermarket windscreen, S15 | 24 | ¥21,000 to ¥32,340 | 8 May to 16 Oct 2026 |
| New aftermarket windscreen, S14 | 28 | ¥23,500 to ¥38,500 | 2 May to 18 Oct 2026 |
| New aftermarket windscreen, S13 | 9 | ¥22,700 to ¥30,700 | 7 May to 29 Sep 2026 |
| New aftermarket windscreen, 180SX | 14 | ¥22,700 to ¥26,700 | 29 Apr to 15 Oct 2026 |
| Used genuine rear window, S15 | 6 | ¥45,000 to ¥110,000 | 19 May to 15 Sep 2026 |
| Used genuine rear window, S13 and S14 | 5 | ¥17,700 to ¥27,500 | 23 May to 15 Sep 2026 |
The rear glass is the part that is truly scarce. There is no aftermarket glass rear window in the results for these cars (only acrylic, FRP and carbon replacements), so a cracked S15 rear window means a used one, and six sold in four months. A 180SX rear window usually comes attached to a complete hatch: one sold for ¥47,000 after 15 bids.
On 19 October 2026 the live listings told the same story: two used genuine windscreens on offer (an S15 at ¥16,500 and a 180SX ASAHI M314 at ¥22,000), both closed to private addresses.
Why do most glass listings not ship to you?
Here is the step that stops overseas buyers. Of the 15 used genuine glass sales above, 2 were pickup or hand-over only (引き取り限定 / 発送不可手渡しのみ). A further 7 said 個人宅配送不可: no delivery to a private home, collection from a freight depot (営業所止め) or delivery to a business only. One S14 seller added that freight cost is only known at pickup and questions will not be answered. The new aftermarket stores are no different: one ships to private names only via a Seino depot, another only to company addresses and not even to a depot. Not one of the 14 listing pages we opened had Yahoo!‘s overseas delivery switched on.
Glass is checked on arrival or never
The aftermarket store we read tells buyers to open the crate in front of the driver and check for breakage on the spot, because claims after that are refused. A proxy warehouse that signs for a freight crate is not going to do that for you, and a used screen is sold ノークレーム・ノーリターン (no claims, no returns).
We collect, inspect and crate it in Japan
Pickup-only listings, depot-only freight and a windscreen nobody has looked at closely are exactly the gap we fill. We collect the glass or meet the freight, check it for chips, cracks and edge delamination, send you photos and video of the whole surface before you commit, then crate it for export. Have us collect, inspect and crate your Silvia or 180SX glass for export.
What should the photos show before you buy?
Japanese listings often show one wide shot of the glass. Ask for these, or have them shot for you.
Glass condition check
- Stone chips and cracks: 飛び石 (tobiishi, stone chip) and ヒビ (hibi, crack). The 180SX screen that sold for ¥12,000 said 飛び石あり (has stone chips) in the title.
- Delamination: 剥離 (hakuri), a cloudy or milky band near the edge where the laminate layer has separated.
- Wiper scratches: arcs in the sweep area show up at night against headlights, so ask for a photo with a light behind the glass.
- Tint band and colour: グリーン (green) or ブロンズ (bronze) glass, with ボカシ (bokashi, a shaded band across the top) or ボカシ無 (none). Match your car or the other glass will look wrong.
- Maker mark: the corner print, such as ASAHI M314 or M848, plus the JIS mark. It confirms the glass and helps match the right part.
- Rear glass extras: heater line terminals intact, and whether the seller tested the heater (one S15 listing said 動作確認済, confirmed working).
How do you get the glass out of Japan, and what does it cost?
By post, mostly not. Japan Post’s EMS limits, checked 19 October 2026, are 1.5 m maximum length and 2.75 m length plus girth to the United States, 1.5 m and 3 m to the UK, Canada and New Zealand, and 1.05 m (with 2 m length plus girth to Germany) to Australia and Germany. Even a slim box 1.4 m by 0.8 m by 0.1 m measures 3.2 m in length plus girth, over the US limit, and a windscreen is wider than 1.05 m. Japan Post also says Fragile and This Side Up services are not available on overseas shipments. So a windscreen goes crated, by freight, which is the same route as the bumpers and hatches in the oversized JDM parts shipping guide.
| Route | What you pay | What you handle |
|---|---|---|
| DIY: proxy plus freight forwarder | The glass price, proxy fees, domestic freight to the proxy, crating and international freight, each billed separately | Finding a listing that will ship to a business address, checking your proxy accepts freight-size glass, and taking the risk on arrival |
| Packaged: TSUISO Parts Desk | Actual cost plus a fee; we quote the total first | Nothing on the Japan side: we collect, inspect on video, crate and export |
The DIY route only works for listings that will ship to a business, which rules out the pickup-only ones that are often the cheapest. Before bidding, ask your proxy whether it will receive a freight-delivered windscreen and forward it. The pickup-only parts guide covers what to do when the answer is no, and reading Yahoo! Auctions listings decodes the rest of the shipping vocabulary. For the body panels around the glass, see used Silvia doors and body panels from Japan.
Glass you can drive on is worth having when the car is back on track. When you are planning that first day out, the Japan drift tracks directory lists the circuits and what each one allows.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a used genuine Silvia windscreen cost in Japan?
On Yahoo! Auctions Japan, only 4 used genuine Nissan windscreens for the S13, S14, S15 or 180SX sold in closed listings ending between 29 April and 18 October 2026, for ¥5,000 to ¥34,100 (about $31 to $213 at ¥160 to $1). The ¥5,000 S14 windscreen was pickup only in Gunma, a ¥12,000 180SX windscreen had a stone chip and could not go to a private home, and the dearest, an S14 zenki windscreen at ¥34,100, came from a parts store that quoted freight after the sale. Prices were read on 19 October 2026 and exclude proxy fees, freight and import tax.
Can I still buy a new Nissan OEM windscreen for an S13, S14, S15 or 180SX?
As of 19 October 2026, Nissan does not state on any official page we could find whether new genuine windscreens for the S13, S14, S15 or 180SX are still supplied, so treat it as not officially stated. Nissan's official reproduction programme, NISMO Heritage Parts, covers the R32, R33 and R34 Skyline GT-R, not the Silvia or 180SX. New windscreens do sell on Yahoo! Auctions Japan for ¥21,000 to ¥38,500 (75 sales, 29 April to 18 October 2026), but the ones we opened were imported aftermarket glass made by FUYAO, listed with the Nissan part number for reference.
How much is a used S15 rear window from Japan?
Six used genuine S15 Silvia rear windows sold on Yahoo! Auctions Japan between 19 May and 15 September 2026 for ¥45,000 to ¥110,000, read on 19 October 2026. The ¥110,000 sale was a Spec-R privacy glass window with the heater lines, and two of the six listings said the glass could not go to a private home, only to a freight depot. Across the S13, S14 and S15, 11 rear windows sold for ¥17,700 to ¥110,000 in that period.
Can a windscreen be sent from Japan by EMS?
Usually not. As of 19 October 2026, Japan Post's EMS limits are 1.5 m maximum length with 2.75 m length plus girth to the United States, 1.5 m and 3 m to the UK and Canada, and 1.05 m to Australia and Germany. A boxed windscreen is flat but long and tall: a box 1.4 m by 0.8 m by 0.1 m already measures 3.2 m in length plus girth. Japan Post also says Fragile and This Side Up services are not available on overseas mail. Windscreens normally travel crated, by freight.
