A used S14 rear bumper sold for a median ¥15,000 (about $94) on Yahoo! Auctions between 30 April and 26 October 2026, and a set of S14 side skirts for ¥22,500 (about $141). The JZX100 is dearer at ¥30,000 for a rear bumper and ¥32,000 for side skirts. We checked on 27 Oct 2026: the parts are cheap, but they are long, fragile and often hard to get out of the seller’s garage.

Dollar figures use ¥160 to $1. Front bumpers have their own page: used front bumpers from Japan.

The JZX100 rows cover the Chaser, Mark II and Cresta. Some S13 and 180SX listings fit both cars, so they appear in both rows: the 326 sales come from 296 different listings.

Side skirts beat rear bumpers on price in every Nissan search. The reason is in the titles. Genuine factory-option side skirts are scarce and sought after: S14 Navan side steps (純正オプション) sold for ¥49,900 to ¥74,000, S15 option side steps up to ¥90,200 and 180SX kouki ones up to ¥150,000. Across all 296 listings, 49 were titled 純正オプション or 純正OP, with a median of ¥48,000. The top sale was a JZX100 Chaser genuine-option rear bumper at ¥180,000.

Is new cheaper than a good used part?

For FRP, sometimes. ORIGIN Labo. lists its Drift Line rear bumper at ¥41,600 before Japan’s 10% tax for the S13, S14, S15, 180SX and JZX100, and Drift Line side steps (left and right) at ¥36,200 for the S13, S14, 180SX and JZX100, checked on 27 Oct 2026. The full S14 range is on our new ORIGIN Labo. S14 page.

So a used FRP piece at ¥10,000 to ¥15,000 saves real money only if it arrives uncracked and complete. Genuine Nissan option pieces are a separate market: their ¥48,000 median is three to five times a typical FRP sale.

What goes wrong with used rear bumpers and side skirts?

The listing titles flag the same problems again and again.

Check before you bid

  • Cracks and repairs. 8 titles said 割れあり (cracked), 要補修 or 補修ベース (needs repair), 補修済み (repaired) or ジャンク (junk). FRP cracks hide under paint, so ask for the back face.
  • Genuine or a copy. 純正 means factory. 社外 means aftermarket. 純正形状 (factory shape) and 風 (in the style of) mean a copy. 9 titles used one of the copy words.
  • Zenki or kouki. 21 titles said 前期 (zenki, early) and 57 said 後期 (kouki, late). Some pieces fit both (前期後期共通); many do not.
  • One side or a pair. Side skirts are sold as 左右セット (left and right). 2 titles were one side only (片側, 運転席側).
  • Muffler cut-out. ORIGIN Labo. warns that its S14 rear bumper may need cutting around an aftermarket muffler. A used bumper may already be cut for someone else's exhaust.

The listing words themselves (ジャンク, 現状渡し, ノークレーム) are decoded in what ジャンク means on Yahoo! Auctions.

Can a rear bumper or side skirts be posted from Japan?

Check the packed length first. Japan Post’s EMS limit is 1.5 m long and 30 kg to the US, UK and Canada, and 1.05 m to Australia and Germany. A rear bumper spans the car’s full width, and the S15 Silvia is 1,695 mm wide. A side skirt runs between the wheel arches, and the S15 wheelbase is 2,525 mm. Corner pieces, under-panels and lips often fit; full pieces normally go by courier freight or sea.

Inside Japan, the seller’s box hits a limit first. Yamato’s 宅急便 stops at 200 cm (length plus width plus height) and 30 kg, ゆうパック at 170 cm and 25 kg. ORIGIN Labo. ships its own new parts as oversized freight:

ORIGIN Labo. S14 Drift Line partSize classTo a business or Seino branch (Kanto)To a private home (Kanto)
Rear bumper240 size¥6,710¥23,760
Side step set (L+R)160C size¥2,970¥9,570

Rates are tax included, checked on 27 Oct 2026. The store advises against home delivery for oversized items because of that fee.

Route choices are in shipping aero from Japan: the oversized problem and EMS vs courier vs sea. If you also want FRP doors or polycarbonate windows in the same crate, see buying FRP doors from Japan.

Which buying route fits you?

RouteWhat you payWhat you get
Cheapest DIY: proxy bid, ships as-isSold price + proxy fees + domestic shipping + export freightFine for small pieces and listings that ship to a home address. You see only the seller’s photos
Sourced and handledActual costs (part, domestic collection, crate, freight) + our fee, total quoted upfrontThe actual part checked in Japan before the balance is paid, packed for long-format freight, combined with other parts if you like

Duty depends on your country. See the import duty guide.

Where do overseas buyers get stuck?

At the long, awkward box. 8 of the 296 listings said 引き取り限定 or 引き取りのみ: collection in person only. 3 more said 個人宅配送不可, no delivery to a private home, and 1 named Seino Transportation freight. No proxy can stand in a seller’s garage and load a bumper as wide as the car for you. And the questions that matter (exact packed size, hidden cracks, whether the tabs are intact) have to be asked in Japanese, before the auction ends. The full picture of collection-only parts is in pickup-only JDM drift parts.

We take the long-box step

We ask the seller your questions in Japanese, collect the part from the seller or the freight depot, and check it in Japan. You get photos and a walk-through video of the actual part (back face, cracks, old repairs, mounting tabs and stays, muffler cut-outs) before you pay the balance. Then we pack it for long-format freight. Have us collect, check and ship your rear bumper or side skirts.

Planning a trip around a drift day while you shop? The event calendar has every round we track. A used rear bumper or side skirt set is good value when it is the right model year, uncracked, complete and shippable. Check those four things, and the median in the table is close to the price you actually pay.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a used S14 rear bumper cost from Japan?

On Yahoo! Auctions, S14 Silvia rear bumper searches closed at a median ¥15,000 (about $94) across 15 sales between 30 April and 26 October 2026, with the middle half between ¥10,000 and ¥28,000. That is the Japanese sold price only. Proxy fees, domestic freight and export shipping come on top, and a full bumper usually leaves Japan as oversized freight. A new ORIGIN Labo. Drift Line S14 rear bumper is ¥41,600 before tax, as of 27 October 2026.

How much are used S13, S14 and S15 side skirts in Japan?

As of 27 October 2026, Yahoo! Auctions side skirt searches closed at a median ¥34,502 for the S13 (26 sales), ¥22,500 for the S14 (34 sales), ¥37,500 for the S15 (32 sales) and ¥30,000 for the 180SX (41 sales), for sales closing 30 April to 26 October 2026. Genuine Nissan factory-option side skirts sit at the top: S14 Navan side steps sold for ¥49,900 to ¥74,000 and 180SX kouki ones for up to ¥150,000.

Can side skirts or a rear bumper be sent from Japan by EMS?

Only if the packed part fits Japan Post's EMS limits. As of 27 October 2026, EMS takes parcels up to 1.5 m long and 30 kg to the US, UK and Canada, and only 1.05 m to Australia and Germany. A rear bumper spans the full width of the car (an S15 Silvia is 1,695 mm wide), and a side skirt runs between the wheel arches (the S15 wheelbase is 2,525 mm). Ask the seller for the packed length first; full-size pieces normally go by courier freight or sea.

Are genuine Nissan side skirts worth the extra money over FRP ones on Yahoo! Auctions?

It depends on what you need. In Yahoo! Auctions sales from 30 April to 26 October 2026, 49 listings titled as genuine factory options (純正オプション or 純正OP) closed at a median ¥48,000, while several unbranded FRP side skirts and rear bumpers (社外, maker unknown) sold for ¥5,000 to ¥11,000. A genuine option part is worth the extra if you want the factory look; a cheap FRP copy (titled 純正形状 or 風) is fine for a drift car if it arrives uncracked. As of 27 October 2026, 8 listings in that sample were titled as cracked, needing repair or junk, so ask for photos of the back face first.
